All good movement instruction begins with a solid knowledge of how the body is designed to move

The ITT Pilates Foundation Training will give you that solid foundation upon which to build your teaching practice.

Anatomy & Core Dynamics

You will learn the bones, joints, and muscles used in all Pilates exercises. You will learn which muscles make up our "inner core" and how to activate. You will learn to see when your students are not activating their core and how to help them find those muscles.

Essential Exercises 

The Essential Exercises are what make ITT Pilates Instructors so successful in their careers. These exercises are the building blocks for good movement patterns. You will learn how to identify and address muscular imbalances that interfere with effective movement training. 

This course is designed for new and experienced instructors who want to go deeper in their understanding of movement and learn tools that make Pilates exercises accessible to anybody. 

Course Objectives: 

  • Learn key movement principles that build a solid foundation for movement training  

  • Tools and skills to improve kinesthetic awareness, motor control, injury prevention, and recovery

  • Learn 26 exercises for spinal mobility, core strength, spine and hip extension, hip and shoulder joint mobility, lumbopelvic and scapular stability.

  • Improve fitness and athletic performance with these functional movement patterns

    • These books may be purchased from Amazon.com. We recommend you purchase the most recent edition of each book.

  • ITT Pilates Essential Exercise video - purchase here

Please purchase your books and the video well in advance to give yourself time to read and prepare for the training.

Students are required to read the following pages from each book, BEFORE the start of the program: Reading for ITT PILATES students, and purchase and view the Essential Exercises video BEFORE the start of the program.

You will receive a detailed manual featuring excellent images and clear, detailed instruction, at no extra cost.

Dates: Friday-Sunday April 26-28 and Friday-Sunday May 3-5

Hours: Fridays 12pm-7pm

Saturdays 12pm-7pm

Sundays 10am-5pm
