ITT PILATES Reformer Training

 The Reformer is the centerpiece of any Pilates studio and a must-have certification for anyone looking to create powerful exercise programs, from athletic performance to rehabilitation from injury

Requirements for completion:

  • Anatomy & Core Dynamics 

  • Essential Exercises

  • Reformer Level 1 

  • Reformer Level 2

  • Teaching Labs 

  • 30 hours of self practice 

  • 30 hours of practice teaching

  • 20 hours of observation

  • 3 Apprentice Teaching hours

  • Final written and practical exam

Prerequisites: 10 private sessions or 20 Reformer group classes, Anatomy & Core Dynamics, Essential Exercises.

The Reformer is an essential tool for strength and flexibility training.

We offer 2 different tracks for certification - Reformer Group Instructor Training and Reformer Private Instructor Training. Students may take one or both tracks.

Reformer Group Instructor Training is for students who wish to teach group classes on the Reformer. You will learn how to teach beginner to intermediate/advanced level exercises with flow using the ITT Pilates class format.

Reformer Private Instructor Training is for students who wish to teach private sessions. You will learn to create exercise programs for all types of individuals from athletes to seniors, how to address muscular imbalances, improve alignment and posture, and restore healthy movement patterns for individuals recovering from injuries. The ITT Pilates method includes dynamic assessments, insightful verbal and tactile cueing, and safety protocols.

Course Objectives

  • Teach safe and progressive Reformer workouts to a wide range of individuals and/or groups

  • Be able to see muscle imbalances and dysfunctional movement patterns 

  • Address imbalances with intelligent exercises choices and the ITT Pilates program design

  • Design full body workouts for strength and flexibility, with optimal alignment with dynamic core stabilization

Once all course work and student practice hours are completed,  students may arrange with an ITT Educator to take the final written and practical exam.
