ITT Pilates Comprehensive Training

 

The ITT Pilates Comprehensive Instructor Training Program is a total of 452 hours and PMA approved.

This program is ideal for those who want the freedom to teach on or off the equipment, in all types of settings, and desire a complete education in Pilates movement. Students begin with the Mat Instructor Training.

Once they successfully pass their Mat Certificate exam, they proceed to the Apparatus Training.

Program Overview

The Comprehensive Training is a career-oriented program. This in-depth training focuses on teaching you how to apply the ITT Pilates principles of sound biomechanics with insightful cueing and the protocols for working with individual needs. The goal is to provide you with the skills and tools to see, sense and create change in your clients. Becoming an ITT Pilates Comprehensive Instructor gives you the confidence to teach a variety of individuals and the ability to help people reach their full movement potential.

The Comprehensive Teacher Training Program continues from the Mat Training and includes the additional workshops: 

 

  • Comprehensive Pre-training (8 hours)

  • Cadillac Level 1 with Teaching Lab (13 hours)

  • Cadillac Level 2 with Teaching Labs (13 hours)

  • Reformer Level 1 with Teaching Lab (17 hours)

  • Reformer Level 2 with Teaching Lab (17 hours)

  • Wunda Chair (10 hours)

  • Ladder Barrel and Spine Corrector (10 hours)

  • Assessment and Program Design (10 hours)

  • Apprentice Teaching (10 hours)

  • A written and practical Final Exam (3 hours)

Preparation & Materials

Prerequisites: minimum of 15 Mat classes and 10 private sessions with experience on all pieces of Apparatus. 

 

Special package for enrolled ITT Pilates students:

10 privates for $700 or single sessions for $80. Call the studio to sign up.

  • Trail Guide to the Body, by Andrew Biel

  • Anatomy of Movement, by Blandine Calais-Germain

    • These books may be purchased from Amazon.com. There is some reading required prior to the first workshop so please purchase your books well in advance.

Manuals: $40 each (6 manuals total)

Certification fee:

  • $5,125

  • $4,925 if paid in full 30 days in advance

Duration & Requirements

For the Comprehensive Teacher Training, students must complete all of the Mat Instructor Training workshops and requirements and then attend all of the Comprehensive Training workshops. Courses are scheduled on weekends with some additional Friday evening labs for teaching practice.

 

In addition to the workshops, all students are required to complete the following in order to be eligible to test out for the ITT Pilates Comprehensive Teacher Training:

  •     80 hours of Self -Practice

  •     90 hours of Teaching Practice

  •     65 hours of Observation

  •     10 hours of Apprentice Teaching

 

Our studio, A Body of Work, is available during the weekends and weekdays, at no additional cost, to help you fulfill your hours of self-practice, teaching practice and observation.

 

Plan on spending a minimum of 7-10 hours per week, in addition to the weekend intensives, in order to practice the material and complete the required hours for the final exam.
